About Me – Matt Fox Seales

Hi, I’m Matt Fox Seales, a Caymanian photographer with a passion for capturing the world through my lens. My journey with photography started at the age of four, but it truly became a part of my life when I took my first job at Cayman Net News at 16, fresh out of high school. Since then, photography has been both a hobby and profession, shaping how I see and experience the world.

I first bought my own camera—a Canon Rebel XT—using savings from my college job, and I’ve been capturing life’s moments ever since. While I don’t follow a strict style or theme, I shoot what pleases my eye and feels right in the moment. I enjoy photographing nature, urban landscapes, automotive beauty, and unprompted special moments—images that tell a story beyond words.

More Than Just Photography

Beyond the lens, I have a deep love for history, storytelling, and adventure. When I’m not out capturing the world, I enjoy filmmaking, writing, reading, and exercising for longevity. I also cherish time spent with my family (wife and two daughters) and two pets—Charlie (Shih Tzu Maltese) and Revy (German Shepherd).

Fun fact? I’ve proudly represented the Cayman Islands in sailing and rugby, and I’ve been involved in film projects, including a short film for the 48-Hour Film Festival, “The Last Act” and the feature film “Some Other Woman,” shot right here in Cayman.

What Drives Me

I don’t take photos just for the sake of it—I do it because I love seeing people connect with my work, feel something, or gain a new perspective. Whether it’s a breathtaking landscape, a candid human emotion, or the raw beauty of an automobile, my goal is always to capture moments that matter.

I believe in constant growth, and that with enough time and determination, I can learn anything. Life is about evolving, and photography is my way of documenting that journey.
